Dad's Diary June 14 & 15

June 14
1934 - Took the day off and went to Mt. Wilson with the crew via Bear Springs. Went riding again this evening. A nice day.

1935 - Lightning and thunder last night. Took a practical bookkeeping course today from LaSalle.

1936 - Kay and I saw "Sutter's Gold" last night. Caught 6 fish in the creek before the rain storm and lightning and thunder.

1937 - Still cleaning up. Rain again today. Rode in Oren's new car. Worked on the car a little. Thunder.

1938 - Hanson and I rode up to the corral and then up to the Butte. No fish.

June 15
1934 - Baer beat Primo last night and I won $3. Am going to Agency tonight and stay at Jones. Will go swimming with Dolores tomorrow. (Max Baer lived in Durango, Colorado, at one time, according to Nat's Grandma - m)

1935 - Last night Kay and I rode over to Bend with Ed and Naomi and saw Billie beat Lee Gibson. Saw BT&TN. Went to Trout Lake this PM.

1936 - Worked down on the Deschutes a half day. Amiel caught ___ and Rover porky-pine quills.

1937 - Worked on side walks today. Lots of rain. Walt and I went fishing. Caught 6.

1938- Caught 7 fish. Took a reading on a fire north of Simnasho this morning.

2009 - We are going to visit my brother and sister-in-law. I didn't realize what close friends my father and hers were. They fished together quite often back in these diaries. Mr. White passed away too soon. My brother is doing much better now after his surgery a few weeks ago.
