Dad's Diary 4/6 - 4/9

April 6
1934 - Went to Agency this evening with Joe Shoeships & Co.  Deane was the ony man left in camp.  Mums had a letter.
1935 - aJust hung around Kay's house today.  This evebning we went to the dance at the Agency,.
1936 - worked with the Fresnos again today.  Was an awful nice day.  Pretty tired at bed time.
1937 - Buster took some pictures.  We fished up the creek.  Caught one - 13 inches long.  Nice day.
1938 - Gus DeLude came up and got the bath house stove for Old Mill.

April 7
1934 - Tom B. & I went hunting.  Nothing doing.  Just 3 of us in camp.  Bud J. was here.  Hope Deane gets my letter.
1935 - Stan & Claude & I got some wood today.  The family went out to Hollywood after some of Kay's things.  Stayed at Kay's house.  Ball game.
1936 - Was kinda cool today.  Got a head ache.
1937 - Another nice day.  Got a ride to the river with Welter.  Caught 3 fish.
1938 - We went after our check.  Ate dinner at Charley Jackson's.  Got back just at dark.  River was too muddy to fish.

April 8
1934 - No letter.  Went hunting up the river & over towards Old Mill.  The crew comes struggling home.
1935 - It rained yesterday so it was too muddy to get the car out of the garage to get our marrige license at Madras.  Shakers were here tonite.
1936 - Had a head ache all day.  Kay & I saw the show "Front Page Woman."
1937 - Took some of the nails out of my lumber.  Reva saw Fat.  Kay went to the show.
1938 - Burned brush.  We brought up two chickens yesterday.  Got a duck in front of the house.

April 9
1934 - 15 man crew.  Sweets came up this P.M.  Maybe we will be married next month.  She phoned just a bit ago.
1935 - Kay & I were married today.  I sure am lucky to get a girl like her.  We had a heck of a time getting a preacher.  "Dillinger" was a witness.  (Mom said they gave someone, must have been Dillinger, money to buy a wedding ring for her.  He wasted the money on something else and bought a 'cheap' skinny, silver band.  She said it had green leaves on it at one time, but they all came off.  She still had the band for years.  m)
1936 - Married one year.  Feel alright today.  Took our phonograph to Muldoon.
1937 - Windy today.  Did a little bead work.  Kay made me a fish bag.  We listened to a phonograph.  2 years.
1938 - 3 years.
