Poetry

My mother-in-law, although an accomplished manager and administrator, often wished she had written greeting cards.  Here is an example of her writing:

                       SNOW

Unseen forces pushing pedals of the clouds,
Skies above, a misty, blind shroud.
Flakes of snow warily hunting a path,
Pushed out of their nests by unknown wrath.

Soft as velvet, silent as can be,
Tending their way - falling gently.
Undisturbed, they lie in peace and at rest,
Molested, they fade away and none are left.

Beautiful and undaunted, the flakes fall,
Nestling in trees both large and small,
Happy, at last, their journey is o'er,
Their gentle bodies, bruised and sore.
